Student Council News

Roosevelt's student council makes a difference.

This year's student council decided to look past the playground, over the chain link fence that separates the school's grounds from the rest of the world, and donate money to organizations that make a difference on a local and global level.  A total of $500 has been raised by the school council and has been donated to the following organizations: The Center for Food Action, Heifer, and a local homeless shelter.
Selling ice-cream every day after school is not the only way the student council raises money.  The annual Fifth and Sixth Grade social raised money that will be used to buy clothes for the people of a nearby homeless shelter.  The student council plans to generate more donations with upcoming events.
Student's, keep an eye out for these future fun events.  Third and Fourth Graders will have the opportunity to sing their hearts out in a karaoke party.  First and Second Graders will kick back and relax with a movie party in the gym.  A volleyball event will be planned after school for students who wish to show off their athletic skills.  No matter the grade, there seems to be a fun filled opportunity for all!
